Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s The Yellow House, which once formed part of 2 Place Lamartine in Arles, this painting draws a parallel with Glasgow’s oldest house, the Provand’s Lordship. Built in 1471, it sits in the heart of the city’s ancient quarter. Echoing Van Gogh’s iconic yellow and blue tones, I capture the essence of this timeless legacy. The restored façade of the Provand’s Lordship shines anew on High Street, while the Royal Infirmary peeks into the frame — paying homage both to Van Gogh’s masterpiece and to Glasgow’s rich architectural history.
