GlasGogh is a Glasgow-based art brand founded by artist and social entrepreneur Mark Armstrong, blending expressive Post-Impressionist influence with the identity, heritage and emotional landscape of the city.

Rooted in Mark’s East End upbringing, GlasGogh began as a personal creative experiment – reimagining familiar landmarks and moments through bold colour, movement and texture. Inspired by the energy of Van Gogh’s brushwork and the soul of Glasgow, each piece transforms place into feeling, and architecture into story.
What started as a small collection of paintings has grown into an evolving body of work spanning original artworks, international print editions, commissions and exhibitions. The GlasGogh range captures iconic city scenes with swirling motion and vivid light, while newer experimental collections push the palette further, exploring emotion, humour and personal narrative.
Beyond the canvas, GlasGogh is grounded in purpose and connection. Mark’s practice is deeply intertwined with community work, charity partnerships and creative regeneration. His commissioned painting Journey for SCIAF has been used internationally in humanitarian campaigns, while works such as Rising from the Rubble and Beatson Blossom reflect a commitment to art as a tool for hope, solidarity and healing.
Whether through original paintings, prints, commissions or live creative experiences, GlasGogh invites people to see their city – and their stories – differently. - GlasGogh Places – Iconic Glasgow scenes transformed through vibrant oils and expressive, swirling movement. What began as a playful question – what if Van Gogh had painted Glasgow? – has grown into a celebration of the city as it is today: grand buildings, riverside views, old tenements, wet pavements, parks and blossoms, painted with warmth, energy and plenty of cobalt blue.
- GlasGogh People – A playful and affectionate portrait collection that brings Van Gogh’s famous sitters into conversation with modern Glasgow, with beloved cultural figures such as Billy Connolly, James McAvoy, Lewis Capaldi and Sharleen Spiteri taking the place of Vincent’s original subjects.
- Commissions – Including the widely recognised SCIAF painting Journey, used in international humanitarian campaigns. He has also produced Rising from the Ashes, dedicated to the children of Palestine. This piece will be sold at auction, with all proceeds going to Medical Aid for Palestine.
He recently donated Beatson Blossom to the cancer support charity, where it is displayed in their centre – bringing colour and light to patients and visitors.
Mark’s artistic practice is grounded in connection – the same ethos behind his work leading Collective Communities CIC and his many charity and volunteer roles. Whether capturing a landmark or an emotional story, his aim remains the same: to create art that resonates, inspires, and invites people to see their city differently.
