Inspired by Van Gogh’s 1889 masterpieces ‘Irises’, and ‘Trees in the Garden of Saint-Paul’ this painting brings his iconic blooms to life within the setting of Glasgow’s Templeton on the Green. Originally opened in 1892 as the Templeton Carpet Factory, this striking structure—resembling a Venetian palace—is an architectural gem steeped in history. It seemed a perfecto location to frame the Irises.

With an adaptation of the colours and backdrop of the Saint-Paul Asylum, a location painted on numerous by Van Gogh. The vibrant irises in the foreground blend with the brickwork of Templeton, creating a harmonious fusion of natural beauty and industrial innovation.
