The Big Yin Roulin Limited Print
FREE UK Shipping
The Big Yin Roulin reimagines Van Gogh’s fifth portrait of his friend Joseph Roulin, the postman of Arles, with one of Glasgow’s most loved creative figures: Billy Connolly.
Van Gogh’s 1889 Roulin portraits are famed for their lavish decorative backgrounds of dahlias and patterned forms, radiating warmth, friendship and tribute. Here Billy appears in Roulin’s blue uniform and cap, but the character is unmistakably his own, playful, wise, slightly rebellious and full of life.
Part of the GlasGogh People collection, this piece celebrates a figure whose humour, humanity and restless creativity have become part of Glasgow’s cultural soul.
All limited edition prints are produced in A3 size. Each print is individually numbered and hand-signed by the artist, making every piece a unique collector’s work.
The Big Yin, painted with all the warmth Van Gogh gave his dearest friends.
